Description

Ovine liver organoids are three-dimensional cultures derived from sheep hepatic stem/progenitor cells that faithfully recapitulate lobular architecture and epithelial lineage composition. They retain segment-specific features of their tissue of origin, encompass hepatocyte and cholangiocyte lineages, and reconstruct core hepatic functions. Livestock studies commonly use these models to simulate hepatic infections and to evaluate veterinary drug or feed-additive residues relevant to food safety. Organoids can be cryopreserved in freezing medium containing FBS, DMSO, and Y-27632 and successfully recovered after long-term liquid-nitrogen storage. Each batch is rigorously tested for mycoplasma, bacteria, and fungi/yeast, and verified for identity, genetic stability, and functional performance.
