Description

Recombinant Human Shh Protein, His Tag, Premium Grade is a high-purity, His-tagged recombinant form of the Sonic Hedgehog (SHH) protein, a key regulator of cell differentiation, tissue patterning, and developmental processes. SHH is expressed in the fetal intestine, liver, lung, and kidney, but is not typically present in adult tissues. The SHH protein undergoes autocleavage into its active N-product and inactive C-product, with the N-product being responsible for signaling activity. The N-product binds to the Patched (PTC) receptor and interacts with Smoothened (SMO) to initiate the transcription of target genes. The His tag enables efficient purification and detection, making this protein an ideal choice for studies involving cell signaling, organoid development, and the study of SHH receptor interactions.
