Description

Human lung organoid are three-dimensional, self-organizing tissue models derived from primary human lung epithelial progenitors or adult stem cells isolated from patient biopsy or resected lung tissue. These organoids faithfully recapitulate lung-specific structures, including airway-like epithelium and alveolar-like compartments containing AT1 and AT2 cells, supported by stromal and endothelial components. They express lineage markers such as NKX2.1, SPC, and AQP5, and maintain genomic stability throughout culture. Quality control ensures organoids are free from mycoplasma, bacteria, and fungi/yeast, with validated identity and functional performance. Human lung organoids serve as robust platforms for studying pulmonary development, modeling respiratory diseases such as fibrosis, infection, and cancer, and enabling drug discovery, personalized medicine, and regenerative therapies.
