Recombinant Human Shh (C24II) Protein, Premium Grade, Tag-Free is a high-quality, untagged form of the Sonic Hedgehog (SHH) protein, specifically the C24II isoform. SHH plays a critical role in the regulation of developmental processes, including patterning, cell differentiation, and tissue morphogenesis during embryonic development. The protein is expressed during fetal development in tissues such as the intestine, liver, lung, and kidney, but is absent in adult tissues. The SHH protein undergoes autocleavage to generate two active forms: the N-product (active signaling species) and the C-product (inactive). The N-product binds to the Patched (PTC) receptor and activates the Smoothened (SMO) receptor, triggering downstream gene transcription. This tag-free protein is ideal for studies that require the natural form of SHH without any interfering tags, making it particularly useful for receptor binding and signaling pathway research in organoid models.
